North Fork scientists utilize not only the typical tools of their science, but also state-of-the-art, sub-meter Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, which is integrated into NFA's Geographic Information System (GIS) to prepare habitat and delineation maps of various types and scales. NFA GIS specialists are highly experienced at creating map products derived from these multiple data sources and performing complex spatial analyses in support of natural resources and environmental land use planning projects. They expertly utilize ArcGIS® and AutoCad® to analyze field data and produce maps, graphics, and tables that clearly depict wetland delineations, habitat distribution, constraints analyses, and other natural resource assessments. NFA graphics specialists are highly adept at developing clear, understandable graphic products that meet the unique and different needs presented by natural resources and planning projects. |
